Welkin Weasels- WEASELWARDANCE by ZekiWolf Welkin Weasels- WEASELWARDANCE by ZekiWolf
Anyone who has spent time with ferrets knows the insanity of the Weasel War Dance - but stoats are even more spastic and ridiculous, as evidenced by this video: [link]

I like the idea that they just HAVE to throw themselves around like maniacs every now and then - like they suddenly have such a surplus of energy that they can't help it. Why should the Welkin stoats and weasels be any different?

Of course, Falshed wouldn't want to be seen being so retarded... Yeah yeah, it's probably only funny to me. XD

The whole "I have dark thoughts. Leave me," is actually from the second book...granted in that part, he merely wanted to get into his secret stash of food, but I really hoped he just wanted to dance... ;P

Falshed and Spinfer belong to Garry Kilworth, blah blah blah

It disappoints me how few letters you can fit into deviation titles!

I just realized that Spinfer is actually physically gripping one of the comic's separating lines. XD

Reminds me of the cheesy bits of the series. ^^ But I guess it was a sorta of lovable cheese. Well-aged. ^^ (This makes me snicker madly.)

Man, I want to read this series but I can't find any excerpts online and I can't find it in any bookstores, either!

You gotta order them on amazon, I think. XD They have them used, some as low as a penny.

Yeah, but I don't really want a used one...probably because normally when a book is used the former owner has done something bad to it.

I've never had a problem with used books. Charity-shop ones tend to be sorta battered, but the ones from Amazon are all fine.

I dunno, all mine are used, mostly from libraries, and they're in pretty good condition. But then, I'm a sucker for cheap books. XD

Heehee, I frankly think this is hilarious. x3
This reminds me a bit of my cat for some reason. XD Obviously he can't really move like that crazy stoat, but he does jerk his head and do quick, weird moves, like jumping in a weird... way when he's playful/mischievous. XD

lol, Zuzu does that. He sort of turns sideways and hops like a weasel when he's chasing toys.

That could be cool! You're welcome to try it on this one if you like. :3 I'm always afraid to colour my stuff 'IRL' because I'm worried I'll irreversibly mess it up. XD I have all these coloured pencils that I'm too neurotic to use. ;P

I always wanted a ferret, and know what you mean about the mad jumping, I think it's so cute though, and the way that stoat is jumping actually looks like my rabbit Hoshi...maybe he's part stoat...anyway! Great drawing, I like your cartoon stoat and weasel drawings, much better than mine by far

BWAHAHAHAHA. Yes. My ferrets do that. Maybe they're really the Super-Ferrets! And their secret identities are ... in Jinx's case it's a ferret and in Murphy's it's apparently a large fluffy slug.

But anyway, yes, that's adorable.

Whenever they talk about the weasels dancing at Kalkies, I imagine them doing that. XD;

Yeah. Mustelid behaviour is adorable :) There are some habits I sincerely hope they dropped upon developing sapience, though - see the entry about stoats on Wikipedia and check out their breeding habits. Ew ew ew. (I'm writing the Official Fanfiction University of Redwall, and at some point I''m planning to show a stoat character being horribly offended and saying that Mossflower's stoats "don't do that" without defining what "that" is, and leave people to wonder and be squicked if they look it up themselves. I love messing with people like that.)

One wonders if Sylver's band learned to synchronise their "mad half-hours" (that's what it's called when dealing with dogs) for the sake of convenience.

Yeah, I think not doing that would be (to quote Bryony Bludd in "Vampire Voles") "one of the *good* habits we picked up from humans". Not that I don't like authenticity in animal stories, but there are some things which are just a tad too authentic.

Though I had no qualms with showing a human-turned-into-hare character frantically brushing her teeth in the morning after realising how "authentic" her transformation was, because THAT habit harms nobody except the person doing it. And it's kind of funny in the ha-ha sense rather than the ew-weird sense.
